Artist-in-Residence for Research
Program
(AIRes) |
In 2001,
the National Research Council invited Katherine Watson
to provide them an overview of international collaborations
in arts and science, with a view to building a case for
cross-sectoral collaborations by the NRC. Katherine brokered
a partnership with the Canada Council for the Arts and
designed the internationally acclaimed Artist-in-Residence
for Research Program (AIRes), within which established
Canadian artists could apply for two-year fellowships
to enter into research partnerships with NRC scientists
and engineers. Katherine managed the three-year pilot
program (2001-04), including marketing and outreach, applicant
communication, and convening and facilitating the cross-disciplinary
assessment panel. |
