Dance and Media Artist-in-Residence for Research Program (AIRes) Umbrella Management During her tenure at the Canada Council for the Arts, Barbara Laskin designed and managed a variety of programs intended to support the development of dance in Canada. One of particular significance to the burgeoning field was a program involving matching funds from three provincial partners. The object of the program was to facilitate the creation and maintenance of umbrella management agencies with a mandate to serve independent dance artists and small groups, thereby obviating the need for them to build unwanted or unnecessary organizational infrastructure.
