In October 2001, a discussion paper was prepared for the Canada Council for the Arts to provide a national and international context for the development of a program of targeted funds to support Dance and Media projects. Over the course of several months in 2002, soundings with producers and creators in dance, film and new media were convened in Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver to seek input and inform the development of a Dance on Screen funding pilot.
